How did we become Uncommon?
Uncommon Ground.
Handmade in England.
'Natural homeware, crafted beautifully, handmade locally.'
In a world of anonymous brands, we wanted to create something better.
PROVENANCE
Why have we got so used to buying products at the centre of our everyday lives without knowing where they are from, how they were made or who made them? Why do the things we buy have to travel over land and sea, often at the expense of makers and the environment too, when social justice and beauty can be found closer to home? And why do brands want to tell us so little about all of the above?
We wanted to create something better: homes filled with the joy of British craft, to celebrate spontaneity, openness and difference, to create natural homeware made out of the very best materials, crafted beautifully, handmade locally.
MAKING HOME, HOME
Isn’t life just better when we come together on what makes us different, singular, unique?
And shouldn't our homes be an unapologetic expression of who we are?
Let's make home, home.
We think that coming together over our differences is the best way to live life, or as we like to put it 'meeting over Uncommon Ground.': connecting through great conversation, discovering gorgeous craft and by sharing moments of joy with the people we love, along with a dash of those fleeting moments of British sunshine.
All of our products are handmade in the UK by skilled local artisans who share our passion for finding beauty in the everyday.
Our first collection of natural cushions has now launched on our online store.
Over the coming months we will be building our ranges with throws, sofa quilts, table linen and more.
Be sure to visit our online store regularly to see our new launches.
